The earth and everything in it, the atmosphere, the sun, the moon, the stars, and, in a word, every atom in Nature has been created by Allah to help us, to sustain us, and to serve us; but they do not work to our advantage unless we make the first move.
You do not ask Allah to do anything for you; you solicit His help simply. In your prayer you admit that you have already begun to do your utmost; you are doing what lies within your powers, and now you come to His door for His help.

We solicit Allah to show us the straight way. One who is not willing to make the move, one who loves idleness and hates work need not approach Allah and knock at His door. He is marked for destruction, as the door is opened to those only who, before knocking, have shown their readiness to work and ask guidance to regulate their exertions.
